Nehru: The Architect of Modern India

BJP has been in power for 8 years and that much time is more than enough to bring positive changes in the country, but we all know that BJP has done nothing except the inaugurating or selling what was built by Congress led UPA government in last term. And to hide their incompetence, the BJP leaders are deliberately making every effort to defame the Indian National Congress (INC) and blaming everything on Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.

To educate them lets revisit Nehruan Era to understand his legacy.

Nehru joined the Indian National Congress in 1919 as to fight for independence from the British and was repeatedly jailed by the British for civil disobedience during the 1920s and 1930s. Nehru received a lathi charge while leading a demonstration against the Simon commission in Lucknow in 1928. He was arrested for the participation in Salt Satyagraha and for calling individual Satyagraha to protest against India's forceful entry into the World War. He was also arrested in August 1942 over the Quit India Resolution and freed after 2.5 Years in January 1945. In 1945, Nehru coordinated the legal defence for the Indian National Army (INA) leaders and soldiers accused of treason.

He always emphasised secularism and India's fundamental unity despite its ethnic and religious diversity and put ideas of fundamental rights and socioeconomic equality for all people, regardless of caste, creed, religion, or gender. He also consistently pushed for the elimination of untouchability, protection against exploitation, religious tolerance, and secularism.

The whole world knows him as “the Architect of modern India” because he promoted and enhanced India's education system by creating prestigious institutions like IITs, AIIMS and India's first space program - ISRO. He was responsible for securing significant investment in the industrial sector, which helped India establish self-sufficiency and cut back on imports of necessities. When we became independent, India lacked the resources and funds necessary to run the nation. Nehru was the one who is responsible for bringing India into the modern era while preserving its traditional values.

And that’s why PM Jawaharlal Nehru still haunts RSS & BJPians! That’s why they wake up every morning and defame him. What else can be expected from these incompetent leaders. Nehru was the strongest PM of India. No fake news spreader of BJP can change this.
